A story from a traveler
Carl B (age 46) - shady bench, Wilmington NC...as the topic had been about traveling out of a backpack and meeting a lot of people
I was tuning my guitar sitting out front of this hotel down in Myrtle Beach last week. This girl (she wasn't a woman but she wasn't a girl) anyway this girl comes down and starts loading this luggage into the back trunk of her car and she's no farther from me than where you are sitting. I'm sitting there playing the guitar with my pack sitting on the ground beside me. I'm not bothering her, she just packs and I'm just tuning up.
Anyways she comes over and sits beside me and we start talking for a while and listening to me play. I asked her for a smoke and she didn't have one but she says wait and she'll go get me one. She comes back downstairs with some more luggage and hands me this pack of ... it was Marlboro Lights and I open 'em. There's like four of them and I thank her. She finishes loading and as she's driving away...there's a hundred dollar bill stuck in the back. She said nothing, she didn't stop or wave. I didn't even see it at first.
'Bout made me cry thinking again about how nice she was. People like that, that's some stories for ya.
